Papa's Place at Vanellis Restaurant in Tupelo, MS. This was my first time at this club, and in over 30 years as a entertainer (the last 12 years predominately in comedy clubs) I have performed in hundreds upon hundreds of venues. And I have never worked in a club where the management and staff were any nicer, more professional, more cooperative, more appreciative, or more respectful of the performer. Every member of the staff from the owner, Bill Kapenekas, to Doug who hosted and MC'ed, to Sherry the bartender to. well. everyone there was honestly wonderful. The accommodations are also very nice and directly behind the club. And, least I forget, the food is excellent! There was nothing and I mean nothing lacking at this venue. What a fabulous weekend (Boy, I wish they could be a week long room!).
